Howdy Drivers!
Well, here we are into another month in a new year. I hope you've all have had a Merry Christmas and a safe and sane New Year's Eve. Either you’re getting ready to or are already back on the road working, running to and fro, or up and down though Interstates. I'd like to take a few minutes and look at something that can affect any of us at anytime of the year, but can really set in during the winter month.
The burden of the Winter months, the post holiday blues, depression and job fatigue- Call it whatever you want, but it can all combine into the same thing. With winter’s arrival, longer nights, too much gloomy darkness, rain, snow and even loneliness come to call.
How do I cope with theses feelings? Well, believe it or not, a pet helps most of all. Next satellite radio helps. I like to listen to classical music and see if I can figure out what the story behind the composition of the piece is. Other times I like to listen to action books on cassettes. I recommend that you not try this while driving into the L. A. basin though.
Another thing that really works well is to develop a close group of friends that you can talk to on a weekly or daily basis. In my case it’s a good thing that most of my friends are with Cingular cellar. Sometimes we talk for hours. I understand that Verizon has the same version as Cingular’s free in network option.
One thing I would really like to stress is if any of these winter blue’s feelings seem to be uncontrollable or become overwhelming, talk to someone about them. As always, we'd like to hear your solution to how you may be dealing with problems like these.
